The Perfect Trail for Little Legs and Big Adventures

The Bridge Pa Triangle is internationally renowned for its fine wines, but for families, it’s beloved for its flat, easy, and vehicle-free cycle pathways.

  • Safety First: Much of the route follows the designated Hawke’s Bay cycle trails next to country roads with minimal traffic, allowing you to relax and focus on the fun.
  • Effortless Cycling: The terrain is exceptionally flat—no steep hills to tire out the kids (or the parents!). This makes it perfectly suited for trailers, tandems, and younger riders.
  • Scenic Stops: The trail weaves past stunning vineyards, orchards, and olive groves. Keep an eye out for local wildlife!
  • Flexible Fun: This is a self-guided tour, giving you the freedom to set your own pace. Stop for ice cream, linger at Roy’s Hill Reserve, or simply enjoy a long picnic break—your day, your adventure.

Wineries That Welcome the Whole Family

While adults enjoy the region’s world-class Chardonnay and Syrah, we’ve curated a route that ensures the kids have fun too.
The Bridge Pa & Gimblett Gravels wineries along the route are known for their relaxed atmosphere and often feature:

  • Spacious Lawn Areas: Perfect for running around, playing a quick game, or unwinding before the next leg of the journey.
  • Gourmet Bites: Enjoy lunch with the family. Many wineries offer delicious non-alcoholic drinks, gourmet pizzas, platters, or even specialized kids’ meals.
  • Picnic Perfection: Grab a quiet spot under a tree and enjoy the food you’ve packed, soaking in the vineyard views.
  • Ice Cream Treats: Many have ice creams available for the kids.
