Abbey Winery and Brewery
Abbey Winery and Brewery is a family-owned single-estate winery and craft brewery at 1769 Maraekakaho Road, Bridge Pa, set in a gothic-style abbey that founder Warren Haworth built himself. Estate wine, house-brewed beer and cider, lunch and live music, 7 km from On Yer Bike.

Alpha Domus Vineyard
Alpha Domus is a family-owned, certified organic vineyard on Maraekakaho Road in the Bridge Pa Triangle, first planted by the Ham family in 1989. Expect Bordeaux-style reds, Chardonnay and two sparklings, an 8.3 km ride from On Yer Bike.

Ash Ridge Winery
Ash Ridge Winery is a certified organic, family-owned cellar door at Roys Hill, run by Leith and Tracy Ashworth and right next door to On Yer Bike. Named Hawke's Bay Cellar Door of the Year in 2023, it pours its own wines alongside pizzas and platters. A 200m ride from On Yer Bike

Oak Estate Cellar Door
Oak Estate is a boutique winery bistro at 403 Ngatarawa Road in the Bridge Pa Triangle, currently run by restauranteur John Logan. Open at weekends for lunch from a small seasonal menu, then afternoon tastings of its own wines. Just 2 km from On Yer Bike.

Paritua Winery
Paritua is a certified organic, single-vineyard winery at 2112 Maraekakaho Road, with buildings by architect Simon Carnachan. Its winemaker, Jason Stent, once raced bikes in France. It's the furthest stop on our Bridge Pa ride, 12 km from On Yer Bike, and best as your first.

Radburnd Cellars
Radburnd Cellars is the small-parcel Hawke's Bay winery of Kate Radburnd, a winemaker with more than 40 vintages behind her. She makes a Chardonnay, a Syrah and a Merlot Cabernet, with her daughter Penelope's lighter range alongside. A small, personal tasting stop for groups of up to six.

Swift Wines
Swift Wines has closed its cellar door at 121 Mere Road in the Bridge Pa Triangle Wine District, Hawke's Bay, and is moving to a new location outside our area. It's no longer a stop on our bike routes.

Trinity Hill Winery
Named Hawke's Bay's Cellar Door of the Year for 2026, Trinity Hill is just 2 km from our base at Roys Hill. Taste Homage Syrah and rarer varieties like Tempranillo in a former barrel hall, with local platters and dogs welcome outside.

Unison Vineyard
A small family winery 3.6 km from Roys Hill, where every red and rosé is grown, made and bottled on site. Taste Symphony Syrah in the Gimblett Gravels, then stay for a Mediterranean lunch in the olive-tree courtyard on weekends.

Which wineries are open every day of the week?
Winery openings are seasonal. For most of the year many wineries operate Wednesday to Sunday. In Summer some will be open 7 days a week for a few months. In winter many operate Friday to Sunday with a few closed for the winter period. We maintain a open/close chart which gives you the latest updates.
Which wineries accept walk-ins?
Couples and groups up to 5 people can usually drop in at most cellar doors. Groups of 6 or more should always book ahead. See individual winery listings for their policy on groups.
Which wineries serve food?
Oak Estate and Unison Vineyard have full lunch menus. Ash Ridge, Abbey Cellars, Swift Wines, and Trinity Hill offer platters, cheese boards, or pizzas. See individual listings for current menus.
Which wineries are best for large groups?
Ash Ridge Wines and Unison Vineyard are very accommodating to large groups. Abbey Brewery is the most popular in summer for large groups but they do not offer wine tastings. See individual listings for size restrictions.
Do all wineries charge tasting fees?
Cellar doors charge a tasting fee of between $15–$30 per person. In the Gimblett Gravels the range is $15–$20; in the Bridge Pa Triangle it's $15–$30. Fees are sometimes waived if you purchase wine.
